FAQ
How long does a screed need to dry before flooring is installed?
Drying time depends on screed type, thickness, temperature, and ventilation. Traditional screeds typically need longer, while fast drying systems can be ready sooner. We confirm realistic timelines and advise if moisture testing is needed before installation.
Do you install screed over underfloor heating?
Yes, we install screeds designed for use with underfloor heating and include the correct insulation and separation layers. We also plan movement joints to reduce cracking risk. After curing, we can advise on the correct heat up procedure.
What causes a screed to crack and how do you prevent it?
Cracking is often caused by poor preparation, incorrect mix, rapid drying, or lack of movement joints. We manage the base condition, use suitable materials, set accurate levels, and follow proper curing methods. This greatly reduces shrinkage and stress related cracking.
